Global UX and Design System Leadership
After leaving BIO, I joined Publicis Sapient to work with Nissan’s Global UXD team. Hired for my experience leading complex systems, I operated as an embedded member of the global team - contributing to executive presentations, running workshops and aligning stakeholders across regions.
The role combined brand, system and product work, requiring both strategic alignment and hands-on delivery.
Nissan Design Basics
One of my primary contributions was shaping what became Nissan Design Basics - an online hub centralising global brand and UX guidance.
Originally conceived as a broad “design ecosystem”, the platform evolved into a structured resource covering:
Logo usage and brand expression
Typography and visual language
Colour systems and graphic devices
Guidelines for digital product application
This resource served a wide internal audience - from marketing and content teams to engineering - and required translating design principles into language accessible across disciplines.
The work strengthened alignment between brand expression and digital product execution at a global level.
Global App Icon System
Nissan operated a wide portfolio of digital apps, but lacked consistency in iconography across platforms.
I led the definition of a global app icon framework, articulating the need for distinct yet coherent icons across the product suite.
This involved:
Defining structural principles
Creating a reusable visual framework
Aligning stakeholders on the strategic importance of consistency
The documentation provided clarity at executive level and supported the redesign of the global app icon suite.
Product leadership
Alongside system work, I led UX on one of Nissan’s key user journeys, managing requirements, stakeholder alignment and design delivery.
The role required balancing global brand constraints with practical product needs — operating across marketing, engineering and UX leadership.
