The last 9 years have been an incredible journey, creating beautiful, functional experiences for Australian blue chip brands including National Australia Bank, Adairs, Patties Foods, Deakin University and Lumo Energy before moving to London to really push the boundaries of my skillset.
In 2016, I took the plunge and moved abroad in search of my next challenge, and it certainly has paid off. Since arriving in the UK I've lead the website redesign of London's world renowned Tate gallery and the digital refresh of Ace Turtle's customer management software 'Rubicon', before landing a role as Art Director at the London based Bio Agency.
After a year leading some of the biggest projects of my career - I stepped up into the role of Design Director for BIO. This role has enabled me to focus on strengthening design processes and methodologies as well cultivating and supporting a really strong team of designers.
My dedicated passion for pairing traditional crafts like illustration, hand lettering and painting with my contemporary UX, digital design and prototyping skills, sets me in good stead to lead project teams with confidence. Always fine-tuning the balance between the functional and beautiful to create experiences that delight and surprise.
I’m a born collaborator and enjoy working closely alongside account managers, content, strategy and development teams to deliver projects to budget and on time.
While a visual person at heart, I’m a self-confessed process nerd. I derive deep satisfaction from developing ways to work more efficiently. When I started at BIO, I brought with my a passion for Atomic Design which is now the key methodology behind BIO's platform builds. This new process greatly improved the transition from design to development with enhanced information capture. I also successfully freed up hundreds of company hours by developing detailed UX and design documentation to streamline on-boarding, and better integrate freelancers into the company.
Whilst with Hardhat Digital I was fortunate enough to be trained in the Agency Agile method, this completely revolutionised the way I quote, scope out projects, and collaborate with other disciplines within the agency. Additionally, I graduated from a 12 week intensive UX design course at General Assembly in 2015, enabling me to further refine my skills in all aspects of the user experience design process. I was also invited to assist in teaching the same course once I finished.
As my professional journey has advanced I have jumped at opportunities to develop my skills as a presenter, teaching a class of Monash University students in mobile design, presenting a Sitecore webinar online to 400 people, planning and presenting a full day 'Hackathon' where I taught a diverse group of professionals an in-depth and adaptive process for ideating, mapping and rapidly prototyping ideas and just before finishing up at Hardhat I was given the opportunity to teach people about correct font choice, live on stage at Real Big Things.
I am influential, sociable, hardworking, and flexible. I thrive in the ever-shifting landscape of a dynamic team and am so excited to find an agency that allows me to grow and contribute to their team as a heavyweight Product Designer / Art Director.
